Lukasz Wierzbowski

Who are you?

I’m a 31 years old photographer from Poland. I am currently residing in Wroclaw which is located in the south of Poland. Originally, I am from a small place called Lubliniec, where I believe my passion for taking photos developed.

What’s your favorite food?

My mom's pierogies.

How did you get into photography?

I had too much spare time while studying psychology so I decided to do something creative and this is when I picked up a camera and started exploring using it.

How would you describe your shooting style?

Portrait photography with a twist of the unexpected, inspired by the interaction between humans and their surroundings.

Black and White or Color?

Color, definitely.

What is your typical shooting gear?

Contax G2, Canon Rebel k2 and Olympus MjuII

Many of your pictures look spontaneous. How much work and planning you put in your photos?

Working on the spot always allows me to create this spontaneous atmosphere for me and my model. It also allows us to explore the possibilities of the given location. Very often I ask the model to do a certain type of movement and just capture the execution of it. Each session feels a bit like a journey, which is unique every single time.

What's your secret recipe for great pictures?

There is no recipe, you just need to follow your instincts.
